On the other side of the world, this 25th edition, centred on the theme ‘Rememory’, explores issues of memory and transmission, within a context deeply shaped by the voices and struggles of First Nations artists. Le Grand Tour offers you an intellectual and aesthetic journey to the heart of this event.
On the programme: a foreword by Brook Andrew; profiles of Cannupa Hanska Luger, Lamia Joreige, Dread Scott, Nahom Teklehaimanot, Behrouz Boochani, Vernon Ah Kee, Hoda Afshar and CAMP… and numerous conversations with Nikesha Breeze, Ema Shin, Rose B. Simpson, Bouchra Khalili, the Ngurrara Artists and Bruce Johnson McLean, the First Nations curator at the Fondation Cartier for Contemporary Art. This issue also brings together contributions from critics and passionate writers who map out itineraries through the biennial’s iconic and lesser-known venues.
