Gio Ponti (1891–1979), a leading Italian architect, explored just about everything—or almost everything. Interior design, architecture, furniture, tableware, glass, ceramics, drawing... No field of design or artistic expression escaped his imagination and his desire to promote beauty in all its forms. From the design of the Villa Planchart in Caracas to the interior design of the legendary Hotel Parco dei Principi in Sorrento, and including the creation of the magazine *Domus*, he put into practice the principles of a *casa all’italiana* where the arts would coexist in harmony. He successfully adapted this vision to the styles of the 20th century, from Novecento to Rationalism, as evidenced by icons such as the Superleggera chair and the Pirelli Tower in Milan.
